Monitoring and Evaluation of Doctoral Students in Physics, FMIPA UGM, DBR BRIN Program

Yogyakarta, April 22, 2026 – The Doctoral Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FMIPA UGM), conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) session for doctoral students enrolled in the DBR BRIN Program. The activity was held from 10:00 to 12:30 WIB at Meeting Room 1, Department of Physics, FMIPA UGM, and was attended both online via Zoom Meeting.

The session was attended by doctoral students, academic supervisors, and evaluation panel members. The primary objective of this activity was to monitor research progress, evaluate academic achievements, and provide strategic guidance to enhance the quality of ongoing research.

During the session, each student presented the progress of their research before the evaluators. This was followed by discussions and constructive feedback from supervisors and panel members, enabling students to gain valuable insights for improving and refining their research work.

The DBR (Degree by Research) Program, conducted in collaboration with BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency), is a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the research ecosystem through collaboration between universities and national research institutions. Therefore, monitoring and evaluation activities play a crucial role in ensuring that the research conducted meets academic standards and maintains its relevance and impact.

In addition to serving as an evaluation platform, the session also functioned as an academic forum that fostered the exchange of ideas and strengthened scholarly networks. The participants demonstrated strong engagement through active and interactive discussions, both among those attending in person and those joining virtually.

As a follow-up to this activity, the evaluation results will serve as a reference for both students and supervisors in formulating future strategic steps, including improving research methodologies, accelerating study completion, and enhancing scientific publication outputs. This ensures that the academic process remains well-directed, measurable, and impactful.

Through this activity, it is expected that doctoral students of the Physics Program at UGM under the DBR BRIN scheme will continue to improve the quality of their research and contribute significantly to the advancement of science and innovation in Indonesia.
