Doctoral Program in Physics Conducts Monitoring and Evaluation to Enhance Academic Quality

On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity for Doctoral  students of the Department of Physics was conducted at Meeting Room 1, Department of Physics, from 08:00 to 12:00 WIB.

This monitoring and evaluation activity constitutes a routine academic agenda organized by the Department of Physics to ensure that the study process of Doctoral (PhD) students proceeds in accordance with established academic quality standards, curriculum regulations, and targeted timelines for degree completion. The activity also serves as an evaluative and reflective forum to review the progress of students’ dissertation research and to provide strategic guidance for the continuation of their studies.

The event was attended by the Head and Secretary of the Doctoral (PhD) Program in Physics, Promotors, Co-Promotors, and the Doctoral (PhD) students scheduled for evaluation, namely:

  4. Widhi Mahardi Darma

  5. Kurnia

  6. Ayu Wita Sari

  7. Andreas Christian Louk

The program commenced with opening remarks by the Head of the Doctoral Program in Physics, Prof. Dr.Eng. Rinto Anugraha NQZ, S.Si., M.Si., who emphasized the importance of periodic monitoring as a form of academic supervision as well as institutional support for doctoral students. In his remarks, he stated that this activity serves not only as a means of evaluating academic achievements but also as a platform for scholarly discussion aimed at enhancing the quality of students’ research and publications.

Subsequently, each student presented the progress of their dissertation research, including the research background, significance and scientific contribution, methodological achievements, preliminary findings, published or submitted scientific publications, challenges encountered, and follow-up plans for the upcoming semester. Each presentation session was followed by a discussion with the promotors and co-promotors, allowing students to receive constructive feedback directly.

The promotors and co-promotors provided guidance on research strategies, methodological improvements, strengthening data analysis, and recommendations regarding publication in reputable journals. In addition, the academic team emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent research progress, effective time management, and intensive communication between students and supervisors to ensure smooth study completion.

Based on the evaluation results, the overall progress of the students’ research demonstrates satisfactory advancement and remains aligned with their study plans. Nevertheless, several notes and recommendations were provided as strategic measures to further enhance research quality and accelerate doctoral degree completion.

The Monitoring and Evaluation activity for Doctoral (PhD) students concluded in an orderly and conducive academic atmosphere at 12:00 WIB. It is expected that through this activity, the quality of students’ dissertation research will continue to improve and the target of timely graduation can be successfully achieved.
