As an effort to support the National Talent Management policy, particularly in the pillar of Human Development and Mastery of Science and Technology, BRIN organized a competitive award platform called the Indonesia Research and Innovation Fair (IRIFair). This event is designed to discover potential talents in the field of research and innovation from the undergraduate to master’s levels, while also providing further opportunities for self-development through research-based learning programs (Degree by Research) as well as the Research Assistant incentive scheme.
In 2025, IRIFair once again presented the Scholar Research Competition, which is based on students’ final research projects. This competition serves as a space for young talents to showcase their innovative research works, while also becoming an entry point into sustainable research development programs.
A proud achievement was accomplished by Zurnansyah, S.Si., M.Sc., a doctoral student of Physics at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), LPDP cohort 2025 (Odd Semester). He successfully won the Grand Award: Scholar Research Competition IRIFair 2025 in the Technology and Engineering Science category. His innovation focused on research about the GMR Biosensor, a breakthrough with great potential in the development of sensor technology based on Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR).
This accomplishment not only proves the research excellence of UGM’s Physics doctoral students, but also highlights the real contribution of young academics in supporting national policies in research and innovation. Through IRIFair, it is hoped that more Indonesian talents will be encouraged to grow, innovate, and make a positive impact on the advancement of science and technology in the country.
