Two doctoral students from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) participated in the prestigious international academic event, The 10th International Conference on Materials Technology and Applications (ICMTA 2025), held on October 29–31, 2025, in Kyoto, Japan.
The participating doctoral students were:
-
Eka Wahyuni (Doctor of Physics, Class of 2024)
-
Nurhidayah (Doctor of Physics, Class of 2023)
In addition to the two doctoral students, the conference was also attended by a master’s student from the Physics Department, Rohma Yuliani (Master of Physics, Class of 2024). All three students actively contributed to the conference by presenting their latest research in the fields of Material Science and Nanotechnology. Through their presentations, they had the opportunity to share research findings developed at the Department of Physics UGM and engage in discussions with scientists, researchers, and academics from various international institutions.
The participation of UGM doctoral students in this international forum reflects the spirit of research collaboration and internationalization fostered by the Department of Physics UGM. Beyond strengthening global academic networks, their involvement underscores UGM’s commitment to encouraging its academic community to contribute actively to the advancement of science at the international level.
ICMTA 2025 serves as an annual platform that brings together researchers and professionals in the field of materials technology, focusing on innovative applications in material science, applied physics, and sustainable technology. This year’s conference was held in conjunction with The 14th International Conference on Nanostructures, Nanomaterials and Nanomengineering (ICNNN 2025), further expanding the scope for cross-disciplinary scientific discussions.
The Department of Physics UGM extends its appreciation and congratulations to Eka Wahyuni and Nurhidayah for their dedication and achievement in representing the university at an international level. It is hoped that this valuable academic experience will inspire other students to take part in similar international scientific activities in the future.
For students interested in participating in the next conference, The 11th International Conference on Materials Technology and Applications (ICMTA 2026) will be held in 2026. Further information can be accessed via the official website: https://www.icmta.org
