The vision of the Doctoral Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, is to become a world-class Doctoral Program in Physics by 2037, excelling and innovating in all aspects of academic activities, and producing competent, high-quality Physics doctoral graduates who are respected and internationally recognized.

Mission

The missions of the Doctoral Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, are to:

1. Provide high-quality doctoral education that produces graduates with strong capabilities in organizing education and conducting research.

2. Implement effective supervision and mentoring processes that support students in carrying out high-quality physics research and academic activities.

3. Strengthen networking and collaboration with educational institutions and industries at both national and international levels.

4. Enhance the capacity for disseminating research outcomes in the field of physics, both orally and in written form, at national and international forums.

The objectives of the Doctoral Program in Physics are to:

1. Produce Physics doctoral graduates who are devoted to God Almighty, possess integrity, and demonstrate strong dedication.

2. Advance and develop state-of-the-art and frontier physics models to address contemporary science and technology challenges relevant to the field of physics.

3. Increase the scope and number of collaborations in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at national and international levels.

4. Generate original, rigorously validated scientific works that contribute to the deepening or expansion of physics knowledge through research employing inter-, multi-, or transdisciplinary approaches.

Researcher: Graduates have a profound understanding of physics, are capable of conducting independent and high-quality research, and are able to effectively communicate research outcomes through professional presentations and publications. They are prepared to contribute significantly to the advancement of physics through research.

Consultant, Bureaucrat, and Entrepreneur: Graduates possess strong foundational and applied knowledge of physics and are capable of applying their scientific expertise to address a wide range of physics-related challenges in society, industry, and governance.
